French President in isolation after testing COVID positive

The French palace on Thursday morning announced President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for the coronavirus flu.

In its announcement Elysee Palace said that the youthful French leader went for a test immediately he saw the first symptoms.

The President’s symptoms were not disclosed, but he will remain in self-isolation for the next 7 days.

“He will continue to work remotely,” The statement read in part.

Most of the country’s leaders who have been close to the President, including Prime Minister Jean Castex, will also isolate despite not showing any symptoms.

First lady Brigitte Macron has also chosen to isolate although she has not exhibited any symptoms.

Other world leaders who have been challenged by the COVID flu include President Trump of the United States and the United Kingdom Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.

So far, 2.4 million French people have been infected, with almost 60,000 losing the raging virus’s battle.
